RONALD J. SCHELLING - Faculty

Ronald J. Schelling, 76, of Aurora, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015 at The Tillers. He was born August 24, 1938 in Aurora, IL, the son of the late Elmer M. Schelling, Sr. and Christine M. (Theisen) Schelling. Ronald spent his early years on family farms in Eola, Plainfield and then Kaneville. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church.

Ronald taught High School for several years and then worked in the construction field as an ironworker. In his later years he was very fortunate to work for Central Machinery Movers with a great bunch of guys that were more like family than coworkers. Oh, the stories he could tell! His three great passions were attending the Indianapolis 500, traveling the world over and walking the campus of his alma mater, Notre Dame. These gave him even more stories to tell!

He leaves behind his brother, Elmer (Michele) Schelling, Jr.; his nephew, Chris (Amanda) Schelling; his niece, Nicole (Ryan) Curtis and his great nephews and nieces, Jacob and Jon Schelling, Mikaela Schelling and Kaylie and Brooke Curtis. He also leaves many greatly loved cousins! Ronald will be greatly missed, but he can now enjoy his heavenly reward with his parents. God bless you Ron.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 4-8 P.M. at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora, IL. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 9:15 A.M. from The Healy Chapel to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church for a 10 A.M. Mass. Entombment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Marmion Academy, 1000 Butterfield Rd., Aurora, IL 60502. For further information please call 630-897-9291 or visit www.healychapel.com to leave an online condolence.
