Alice Duffy Page - Dorm Counselor

Alice Cecilia Duffy Page died peacefully in her sleep Saturday, April 28, 2018, at The Waveny Care Center in New Canaan, CT. 

Born on August 13, 1931, to Henry Duffy and Margaret Lynch Duffy, Alice was the youngest of six children and raised on a farm in Amenia, NY. She graduated from SUNY Cortland and followed her passion for teaching and physical activity to become a physical education teacher. Later, she worked in France and met her future husband of 44 years, Donald Rothwood Gregory Page. Raising their family in Old Greenwich, CT, she was an active community member and beloved PE teacher at Old Greenwich Elementary School before they retired and moved to Washington, CT. An avid reader, she was able to enjoy and tend her tranquil gardens and pool. 

 

She is survived by a son, Donald Rothwood Gregory Page II of Cooper City, FL, daughters Alice Cecilia Detrich of Nahant, MA and Elizabeth Ann Gallo of Ridgefield, CT, their spouses, five grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. Alice is predeceased by her husband, parents and siblings.

 

A Funeral Mass will be held at10:30 AM on Friday, May 4, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church; 520 Ridgebury Road, Ridgefield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice or The Waveny Health Care Network.
