Larry D. Lighthill '68

Larry D. Lighthill, 74, died Monday, November 4, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born in Ft. Hood, Texas, he was a son of Dorothy Harris Lighthill and the late John Daniel Lighthill. Mr. Lighthill was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was a U. S. Air Force veteran.

He was retired from Crescent Tool Company with 42 years of service and was also employed by American Legion Post 15.

Surviving is his mother; a daughter, Brooke Menser (Ron); a son, Chris Lighthill (Nikki); a brother, John “Jack” Lighthill and a sister, Nancy C. Lighthill; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday at Grace Baptist Church with Dr. Stephen Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. Thursday at Grace Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 219 W. Calhoun Street, Sumter, SC 29150 or to the American Legion Post 15, P. O. Box 1362, Sumter, SC 29151.
