Barbara Colleen Thomason '65

Barbara Colleen Thomason, 78 years, 1 month, and 7 days old, passed away on, July 22, 2025, at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, in Ava, Missouri.

On June 15, 1947, Barbara was born in Nuremberg, Germany, to Emmett and Eugenia Thomason. As a child, and into her young adult years, she served as a missionary with her family. This gave her the opportunity to live in many countries in Germany, France, Africa, and eventually the United States. She and her parents lived in a cabin in Maine before she found her way to the Ozarks.

She was an accomplished artist and held three degrees, a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and a Masters of Fine Arts. African art was especially interesting to her. Barbara loved to travel and take photos of the places she visited or the campsites she stayed at. When she wasn't passing time outdoors, she liked to go thrifting or spend time with her cats.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by special friends, LeRoy Smith and Rhonda Turner.

Cremation services for Barbara are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava, Missouri. Burial will be in the Ava cemetery.
