Mary Ann Fletcher '62

Mary Ann Fletcher Brown of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away at her home on October 18, 2024. Born on February 25, 1943 in Kingstree, SC to Stuart Samuel Fletcher and Virginia Shirer Fletcher.

Beloved wife of William Dayton Brown for 54 years until his passing in 2018, she is survived by her two daughters; Pamela Govea (Daniel) and Patricia Brown; granddaughter Brandy Cavanaugh (Kyle); great-grandson Samuel Cavanaugh, and sister Gwen Alcus.

Mary Ann had a passion for life and touched the hearts of all who were lucky to know her. She enjoyed her job as the bookkeeper of Tallahassee Nurseries for several years, and played a significant role in helping her many friends at her church as well as in the community. Mary Ann was an avid reader, loved going to estate sales and working on Sudoku puzzles. Her friends and family meant the world to her and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church at 10AM on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, with a reception to follow in Sanders Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church.
