Philip "Phil" D. Bickley '64

BICKLEY, Philip "Phil" Dare, 71, of Richmond, Va., passed away suddenly after recent health complications on April 17, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and J.M. Bickley; treasured grandparents, Carl and Gladys Huband; adored mother-in-law, Ruth Horning; and brother-in-law, Eddie "Hollywood" Horning.

He is survived by the "LOVE OF HIS LIFE," Patricia Bickley; sons, Bill Clements and Scott Bickley (Michelle); "His Girl," Sassy; cherished grandsons, Josh and Jake Sanchez-Bickley; sisters, Patricia Woolwine (Don) and Jerry Toscano (Filippo); brother, Jan Bickley (Cathy); sister-in-law, Sheryl Mahler; brother-in-law, Bobby Horning (Barbara); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Phil was born in Richmond, Va., and as an Air Force brat, was schooled locally as well as abroad in France, ultimately graduating from high school in El Paso, Texas. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a graduate of the University of Richmond. Phil had a dedicated 40-plus year career at Wells Fargo. His hobbies were many, including reading, golf and yard work, but his true enjoyment came from helping others! He was the best partner and dad we could have ever asked for and will be missed more than words can express!

The family will receive friends 12 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where a memorial ceremony will follow at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, nationalmssociety.org/Donate.
