1947-2008
Robert John DeBord, 60, passed away on July 18, 2008 following a fatal
heart attack in Pensacola.
He was born in Guam while his Navy father was stationed there following
WWII. He grew up living in many different states and countries, among them
Maine, Rhode Island and VA, along with Spain, Morocco Liberia and Germany.
After graduation from Hastings College in NE he married Judith Moorberg
and became a stepfather to Ann and Mark Moorberg. Robert and Judy divorced
in 1998 but remained close friends.
Robert had a varied career, holding the position of Vice President at
Fleet Bank in CT, FNB in Mobile, C&S Bank in Atlanta. He then joined
WWE, working in development, production and marketing. His final position
was at Beazley Company in CT as their Director of IT.
For the past 6 years he had assisted with the utmost loving care and
devotion to his mother and father, Margaret and Robert DeBord, in the
months and years before their deaths.
Robert was a much beloved brother, cousin, uncle and friend and will be
deeply missed by us all. He is survived by his brothers James (Deb) and
Ben (Carolyn) and sisters Margaret Stent (Terry) and Mary Harrod
(Lawrence) and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside burial service will be held 11:00am, Saturday July 26, 2008
at Golden Rule Cemetery in Giltner, NE.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Pediatric
Palliative Care Program at Sacred Heart Hospital Foundation, 5151 N. 9th
Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32504 (attn: Pediatric Palliative Care).
