Dr. Sandra Kaye (Langston) Dennis,
56, of Casper died April 15 of heart failure while attending the National
Association of School Psychologists convention in Toronto.
She was born April 1, 1947, to William and Wanda Langston in Selma,
Ala.
She grew up in different parts of the world, including Japan and
Norway, while accompanying her father, who was in the military.
She did her undergraduate work at Trinity College in San Antonio and
received her master's degree and doctorate of psychology from the
University of Houston.
She spent the majority of her career as a public school psychologist in
Wyoming, including in Cheyenne, Riverton and Casper.
She married Alan Dennis on Aug. 25, 1978.
She was an animal and nature lover and was a respected child advocate.
She served as past president of the Wyoming School Psychologists
Association.
She is survived by her husband, Alan Dennis of Casper; daughters,
Brandi Dressler of Grand Junction, Colo., and Donell Kohrmann of Fort
Collins, Colo.; her father and stepmother, William and Betty Langston of
San Antonio; two grandchildren; and four nieces.
She was preceded in death by her mother and nephew.
Burial has been held in Casper. A memorial service will be held at 11
a.m. Saturday at Mills Elementary School (Second and Wasatch) in Casper.
Friends may contribute to a local humane society, Special Olympics or
to the Sandi Dennis Memorial Scholarship Fund via the Wyoming School
Psychologists Association. |
