Duane Irvin Durkee, 63, died January 11, 2006 at Palomar Memorial Hospital.
Born in San Diego, he spent his very early years there. He received his
grade school and high school education in Germany and France when his family was
stationed there after the war.
He graduated from the University of Chico in California and taught junior high
school for several years. He was a life member of Delta Sigma Phi
fraternity. In 1970 he formed his own plumbing company and spent several
years conducting a successful business. Health problems forced his
retirement and he spent the last years in quiet retirement until cancer took his
life.
