Jeanne Krausman Wendt

LA PORTE - Jeanne M. Wendt, 62, La Porte, passed away at 11:22 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 25, 2007) at La Porte Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, 111 Kingsbury Ave., La Porte, with the Rev. David Young officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, and 9 a.m. until the service Monday at the church.

She was born Oct. 10, 1944, in Washington, D.C., to Ernst and Betty (Bruffey) Krausman, both of whom survive in Ormond Beach, Fla. On Sept. 27, 1994, in Ormond Beach, she married Philip Wendt, who survives in La Porte.

Also surviving are a daughter, Meredith Stahl, Sparks, Nev.; a son, Jeffrey (Annie) Stahl, South Bend; two sisters, Kathy (James) Lineberger, Yadkinville, N.C., and Ruth Anne (William) Bethea, Ormond Beach; two brothers, Dr. Paul R. (Carol) Krausman, Bozeman, Mont., and Ernest (Victoria) Krausman, Mohave Valley, Ariz.; two granddaughters, Katie and Madelyn Stahl, both of South Bend; and 11 nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Wendt was a pharmacy assistant at Phil's Discount Drug Store in La Porte. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crafts, was an avid rubber stamp collector and a world traveler. She graduated from high school in Dreux, France, and from Valparaiso University in 1964.
