Born on June 27, 1949 in San Francisco, California to Col. Robert and Phyllis ( Butler) Borman. Survived by sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and Skip Duncan. Nieces, Beth Duncan (Rob Lynskey) and Cathy (Corey) Steinke. Great nephew Robby Lynskey and Great niece Luna Steinke. Also by cousins Patty Vander Dussan and Cathy Flynn. Employment was at Argo and Lehne jewelers for several years and he retired from Wendy's restaurant at Kingsdale. He also worked for Upper Arlington Veterinary Hospital. John had recently volunteered at the Upper Arlington Senior Center.

With 32 years of sobriety, he still actively attended and participated in several AA meetings a week. He developed many lasting friendships from AA. His passion was old cars. He loved to build model cars, with special interest in the cars of the 1950s. John was very outgoing and never met a stranger. He loved telling stories about his life. As an Army brat, he travelled quite extensively as a child. He was well liked by many people- from every aspect of his life.

The family wishes to thank the OSU Hospitals for their wonderful care during the last few months. Everyone who cared for him did a wonderful, caring job. A memorial service will be held 3 P.M. Monday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2001 Northwest Blvd., Pastor Steve Wachtman officiating. Private interment at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Upper Arlington Senior Association, 1945 Ridgeview Rd., Upper Arlington, OH 43221. Online condolences may be made at www.deyodavis.com.
