John Robert Davis, 77, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2010. John was known to his family as Bobby. He was born in Rocky Mount, NC on August 19, 1932 to the late Edgar B. Davis and Ethel C. Davis. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Jean Davis Worrell.

John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Alice Blankman Davis of Rocky Mount; his brother, E. Norman Davis and wife Vivian; nephew, N. Scott Davis and wife Ashley of Rocky Mount; and great nephews, Robert, Colby, and Alston.
John graduated from Rocky Mount High School and then attended ECU, Greenville, NC. He served in the US Army for 4 years and taught school for the US government for 33 years.

Graveside services will be held 2 pm Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park in the Chapel of Memories. The family will receive friends following the graveside.
