Linda L. Knapp '67

Linda L. Knapp, 70, of Tanglewood Manor and Randolph, passed away at 8:58 a.m., Saturday (Nov. 30, 2019) at UPMC Chautauqua Hospital in Jamestown.

She was born Feb. 2, 1949, in Boston, Mass., the daughter of the late Albert Forest and Bertha Mae (Thompson) Knapp.

Linda was a 1967 graduate of Allentown High School, Allentown, N.J., and Monmouth College in 1970. At the time of her relocation to Randolph, Linda had worked as a sales associate for the Army Airforce Exchange Services at Fort Monmouth in Eaton Town, N.J., for over 30 years.

She was a charter member of the Randolph Historical Society, a social member of the Randolph American Legion Post 181 and a member of the C.L.R.A.A.C.A. Car Club and enjoyed watching the PGA Tour on television and she was the self proclaimed leader of the Tiger Woods Fan Club, whom she adored.

She is survived by her sister, Laura Stewart and husband, Mike of Randolph: a nephew, Michael Jay Stewart Jr. of Clearfield, Utah; two nieces: Marie (Wayne) Pitcher of Carthage, Mo., and Naomi (Charles) Phillips of Clever, Mo.; six great-grandnieces and nephews: Nikol (Owen) Smith, Ashley (Ben) Torkelson, David (Rebecka) Phillips, Mikayla Phillips, Melissa Stewart and Nathan Stewart; and a brother, Harry Bruce Knapp.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Bertha; and the love of her life, Richard Ziza, with whom she was engaged to while attending Monmouth College.

As per Linda’s wishes, there will no services held at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced by the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, Randolph.
