Sherian Harper Williams was born in Denver, Colorado to the union of Reginald
and Dorothy Harper on September 1, 1947. With Reginald being in the military,
she traveled extensively and later made Mobile her home. She exchanged this
life for eternity on September 26, 2010.
Ms. Williams accepted Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of
Mt. Olive AME Zion Church where she was a member of the mass choir. She was
employed with the Mobile County Public School System for over 28 years.
Sherian attended Blount High School, but graduated from Wheatland Union High
School in TX. She received her bachelor and master degrees from the University
of South Alabama where she also pledged on the charter line of Alpha Kappa
Alpha Sorority, Inc.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Harper and father,
Reginald Harper. Sherian leaves to cherish her memory, two loving and devoted
sons, Thomas (Tamekka) Figures of Orlando, FL, Marcus Williams of Mobile, AL;
one grandson, Nicholas Figures of Birmingham, AL; one devoted sister, Carol J.
Bonner of Corpus Christi, TX; a loving great aunt, Myrtle Godbolt, Prichard,
AL; a devoted niece, Sherian Jeanine (Ronald) Jackson a devoted nephew, Kevin
Bonner both of Houston, TX, and a host of loving cousins and cherished
friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 9am until
the 11am funeral hour at Mt. Olive AME ZION Rev. John P. Gant Pastor and
officiating Minister. Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery.
