Mr. Lee was stricken while at work at the hospital where he was administrator of the Radiological Department, a post he had held since June.

Mr. Lee had previously taught history at both Mohegan Community College in Norwich and Longmeadow (Mass.) High School.  In the 1970’s he served as area administrator for VISTA in New London and was a coordinator for the Connecticut Mental Health Board of Eastern Connecticut.

He served on the administrative staff of Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, MD.

Born April 3, 1942 in New London, he was the son of the late Helen Louise Hughes Lee.  He was educated in the Groton school system and graduated from Germantown (PA) Academy and Trinity College in Hartford. He received a Master’s Degree in history from the University of Illinois and a Master’s Degree in hospital administration from Northwestern University in Chicago.

Besides his father, survivors include his stepmother, Hildegard F. Rossmann Lee of Noank.

Funeral services and interment will be private.   The Church and Allen-Dinoto Funeral Home, Mystic, is in charge of arrangements. There will be no calling hours. Donations may be made in his memory to the development fund of Lawrence and Memorial Hospital, New London.

From The Day newspaper, Groton, CT dated December 18, 1984.

Note:  I spoke with his stepmother and she said he died of a massive brain hemorrhage.
