GROTON, CT: Stephen
Bacon Lee, Jr., 42, of Washington D.C., son of retired Navy Captain Stephen B.
Lee of 44 Hillside Avenue, Noank, died Monday (December 15, 1984) at the Greater Southeast Community
Hospital where he had been a patient since Dec. 14.
Mr. Lee was stricken while at work at the hospital where he was administrator of
the Radiological Department, a post he had held since June.
Mr. Lee had previously taught history at both Mohegan Community College in
Norwich and Longmeadow (Mass.) High School.
In the 1970’s he served as area administrator for VISTA in New London
and was a coordinator for the Connecticut Mental Health Board of Eastern
Connecticut.
He served on the administrative staff of Johns Hopkins University Hospital in
Baltimore, MD.
Born April 3, 1942 in New London, he was the son of the late Helen Louise Hughes
Lee. He was educated in the Groton
school system and graduated from Germantown (PA) Academy and Trinity College in
Hartford. He received a Master’s Degree in history from the University of
Illinois and a Master’s Degree in hospital administration from Northwestern
University in Chicago.
Besides his father, survivors include his stepmother, Hildegard F. Rossmann Lee
of Noank.
Funeral services and interment will be private.
The Church and Allen-Dinoto Funeral Home, Mystic, is in charge of
arrangements. There will be no calling hours. Donations may be made in his memory to the development fund of Lawrence and
Memorial Hospital, New London.

died of a massive brain hemorrhage.
