William J. Horak - Faculty
William J. Horak died May 4th 2015 while a resident at the Wells Nursing
Home. He was born in Johnstown New York on June 25th 1932 to the late Maria and
Jozef Horak.
He is survived by his sisters Mary Johnson and her late husband Larry and
Julia Jagielski and her husband Richard. He is also survived by several nieces
and nephews and their families and cousins along with many devoted friends. He
is predeceased by his brother Joseph and his wife Peggy.
He is a graduate of Johnstown high school class of 1950. William received his
bachelor's degree in math and biology from Albany State in 1955 and a master's
degree in education in 1958. He was a veteran of World War 2 serving in the Army
from 1955 to 1957. From 1960 to 1970 he taught for the Department of Defense
dependent school system in France, Spain, Norway and England. In 1976 he earned
a Chefs certificate from Schenectady County Community College.
The family wishes to thank the entire personnel of the Wells Nursing Home for
the excellent and compassionate care William received. Funeral services will be
private and at the convenience of William's family. Arrangements are in the care
